Hi friends, my name is Steve and I would like to welcome you to my Rapture Bound Outreach Center — a cutting-edge, video-based Christian ministry where you will gain an expanded understanding of end times prophecy. If you live near Chicopee, Mass., consider stopping by for fellowshipping with us and enjoying the video presentations concerning the Biblical signs proclaiming the nearness of Jesus Christ’s return.

Feel free to gmail me @ < bobenny2000@gmail.com > if you have any questions or comments.

If you are a church-attending follower of Jesus Christ, you are probably aware of the lack of, and superficial nature of the teaching of end times Bible prophecy. My desire is to provide a platform in which people can meet face to face, discuss various end times topics, and encourage one another as we await our “catching away” or ‘Rapture” out of this fallen world [1 Thessalonians 4:15-17; Revelation 3:10].

It was back in 1983 that the Lord Jesus Christ delivered me out of the “matrix” of this present evil world system [2 Corinthians 4:3-4]. My eyes were truly opened for the first time as I came to the realization that no amount of my own “goodness” could ever merit right-standing before God [Romans 4:1-8]. It was only after trusting that Jesus paid for my sins personally on the cross that I received the assurance that all my sins were forgiven, and therefore would one day enter the New Jerusalem [Heaven] … [Romans 3:24-25; Hebrews 10:14; 1 John 5:13; Revelation 21:2].

This assurance is not a “pipe dream”, it’s not “too good to be true”… it is real, it’s God’s promise for all who would truly place their trust in Christ’s atoning work on their behalf [and none of their own] for their salvation … Praise His Wonderful Name!! Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

Romans 8:16, “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:”

The topic of Bible prophecy was very instrumental in my becoming a follower of Jesus Christ. It was a very popular book on prophecy written by Hal Lindsey entitled “The Late Great Planet Earth” that awoken me to the fact that the fulfillment of Bible prophecy provided compelling and overwhelming evidence for the inspiration of the Holy Scriptures. Please do not underestimate the immense value of studying the Bible’s prophetic element.

All the prophecies concerning the First Coming of Christ were fulfilled to the very letter. This fact gives me the utmost confidence that all that has been written with regard to His Second Coming will indeed come to pass! According to “The Encyclopedia of Biblical Prophecy” by J. Barton Payne, there are 1,239 prophecies in the Old the Old Testament and 578 prophecies in the New Testament for a total of 1,817. These prophecies are contained in 8,352 of the Bible’s verses. Since there are 31,124 verses verses in the Bible, the 8352 verses that contain prophecy constitute 26.8 percent of the Bible’s volume.

Many Pastors avoid the topic of end times Bible prophecy for various reasons – lack of knowledge, fear of looking like the lunatic fringe, fear of offending their members, or perhaps fear of losing their 501(c)(3) IRS church status. Please do not misunderstand me, I say this not to disrespect or devalue in any way the role of God-given leadership, but instead to address “the elephant in the room ” – the lateness of the hour in which we are living. It’s simply too late to “play church ” my friends, God wants to use each and every one of us to put out the final warnings.

Here at my Outreach Center, the pressing issues of the day that are related to that “elephant in the room” are addressed head-on, topics such as : The Coronavirus Plandemic; The New World Order [Great Reset]; the R.F.I.D./Mark of the Beast [666]; the Anti-Christ [son of perdition]; The Great Sign of the Woman [Revelation 12:1-2]; the 2014-15 Blood Moon Tetrad; The Great Pyramid of Giza; and The Great American Solar Eclipse. Hope to hear from you soon!

“Salvation Shorts”

[1] There are many professing believers out there who tell me that Jesus’ finished work on the cross doesn’t equal OSAS. My response … “correct, it doesn’t equal it … it’s the guaranteed result of it for all those who have truly trusted solely in it for their eternal salvation/life.”

[2] “I cannot not believe in Jesus.” … the exact sentiments expressed by many believers as well as the Apostle Paul! :

2 Timothy 1:12, “”For this reason I also suffer these things; but I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that He is able to protect what I have entrusted [past tense] to Him until that day.”

The crazy but unfortunate thing about this is that there are likely genuine believers out there who don’t actually believe that they will necessarily continue trusting in Jesus for their salvation … consequently, they can easily become paralyzed with the fear at times that they will stop believing in Him at some time in the future and lose their salvation.

They simply don’t perceive and understand that the various hypothetical/conditional statements, the “ifs” seen throughout the scriptures, such as Colossians 1:23. “if indeed you continue in the faith” speak of the guaranteed by-product or result of a person being indwelt by the Holy Spirit [i.e. – all those who have genuinely born-again will continue in the faith — or stated differently … if a person has genuinely been born-again, they will consequently continue in the faith].

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 :
23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

Ezekiel 36:26-27, “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.”

[3] In the end, after “all the dust has settled”, we discover that what is really the most important question in any person’s life is not, ” Will I actually forfeit [lose] my salvation once I receive it?”, but instead, “Have I actually been born-gain?, that is, am I actually a new creation in Christ?” [John 3:3-8Titus 3:5-72 Corinthians 5:17].

[4] 316 & 613 – Jesus reverses the curse – John 3:16 & the Law :

I find it very interesting that by using “316” [forward and reversed] …. it speaks both of the burden and curse of the law as represented by 613 – The 613 Laws of the Old Testament Called the Mitzvot … and the reversal of the curse by Jesus seen in John 3:16 … 316 + 613 = 929 [the total number of chapters in the Tanakh].

Galatians 3:13, ” Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree.” = All praise to our precious Savior Jesus Christ!!

The Beast, the False Prophet & the Tetrads

Joel 2:30-31, “And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the LORD come.” [KJV]

The following article features an amazing revelation written by John Tng of FiveDoves.com way back in 2013. https://www.fivedoves.com/rapture/2013/beast_falseprophet_tetrads.html

It includes his entire original text, along with some additional features that I’ve added to it. The intent of those additions is certainly not to alter John’s premise whatsoever, but rather to enhance it. Also, since the time of John’s writing, I’ve also seen some other likely connections to certain points that he had so stunningly and convincingly brought to our attention. Therefore, for the sake of clarity, my [added] thoughts/speculations are bracketed.

John Tng (17 Aug 2013)
“The Beast, the False Prophet & the Tetrads”

Dear Doves,

It’s been a long time since I last wrote. I have a couple of things to share with you which I trust will interest you.

The most significant prophetic events that happened this year are the election of Pope Francis and the second inauguration of Obama. Both men are key end-time players — one is the false prophet, and the other the antichrist. As you will see later, by counting Bible verses, I was able to identify both men with some degree of confidence.

Two upcoming significant prophetic events in the next couple of years are the proposed two-state solution and the blood moon tetrad of 2014-2015. In my calculation, I discovered that the tetrads point to Obama and the Pope in such an intriguing fashion that it is hard to attribute to chance; it is as if God arranged the sun, the moon, and the Earth to cause the eclipses to happen precisely to coincide with key dates associated with both men.

I will not go into the details of the tetrad — basically 4 blood moon eclipses falling on Passover and Tabernacles back to back in 2014 and 2015. You can learn all about the rare heavenly phenomenon in YouTube and the Internet. The upcoming tetrad will happen the 8th time since Christ. The previous two tetrads in the last 500 years fell within a small time window on or near significant dates when Israel became a nation in 1948 and when Jerusalem first came under the Jewish rule for the first time since AD 70 in 1967. Given the timing of the proposed two-state solution, we could well see the rebuilding of the Temple at the time of the 8th tetrad.

http://www.watchmansview.com/Blood_Moon_Tetrad.html

I will not touch on the rapture in this post. My purpose is to show the significance of the 8th tetrad and its intriguing link to Obama and the Pope. Clearly, something big is coming with all that is happening. The rapture must be close.

God hides a huge secret in Proverbs 30:2 — the only scripture with gematria value 1318. This verse describes the beast of Re 13:18 to a T — “Surely I am more brutish than any man, and have not the understanding of a man.” (the same Hebrew word for brutish is associated with beast in Ps 73:22). The chapter and verse numbers with colon removed, 302, is the Hebrew gematria for BARACK. Its verse order number counting from the first verse of the Bible, 17254, coincides with the day Obama aired a 30-minute election campaign advertisement — the most watched infomercial broadcast in the history of US television. At the end of the broadcast, Obama declared, “….. and together, we will change this country and change the world”. [ https://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/31/us/politics/31rate.html ]

From the day Obama was born, Aug 4, 1961, to the day the 30-minute advertisement was aired, Oct 29, 2008, there are 17254 days. This is precisely the verse order of the only scripture with gematria value 1318.

Let us turn our attention to the false prophet. From Obama’s birthday to March, 13, 2013, the day Pope Francis was elected, there are 18850 days inclusive. Verse 18850 of the Bible is Isaiah 61:6, “But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORDmen shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.”

Of all the 31102 verses in the Bible, the verse is BULL’S EYE in describing the Pope — the chief priest and minister of the Catholic Church.

The 2014-2015 Tetrad Connection
I have just shown you how by matching the number of verses with the number of days counting from Obama’s birthdate, two key dates show up — the appearing of the beast on Oct 29, 2008 and the appearing of the false prophet on March 13, 2013.

The tetrads seem to point to both men as well. Consider this: each tetrad lasts 532 days exactly.

TetradStart dateEnd dateNo. of DaysProphetic Significance
6thApr 13, 1949Sep 26, 1950532Israel became a nation since AD 70
7thApr 24, 1967Oct 6, 1968532Jerusalem recaptured since AD 70
8thApr 15, 2014Sep 28, 2015532Rebuilding of the Temple ?

[As it turns out, there would be no two-state solution, or rebuilding of the Temple during or around the occurrence of the 8th tetrad since the time of Christ [2014-2015]. However, keep in mind that John Tng wrote his article nearly 10 years ago, which was slightly more than two full years prior to the historic meeting between Obama and Pope Francis on September 23, 2015.

In other words, hindsight is 20/20. The September 28, 2015 blood moon, which completed the 8th tetrad, occurred within 5 days of that historic meeting. In light of this incredible correlation, it’s extremely likely that (at the very least) one of the purposes of God’s 8th tetrad was the further unveiling of the identities of both the Beast (Obama) and the false Prophet (Pope Francis).]

Proverbs chapter 30 — the chapter that conceals the identity of Obama as the antichrist in verse 2, is a chapter full of secrets. (I will write another post on it showing the rapture concealed here!) If you tear out from the Bible all the chapters starting from Proverbs chapter 30 all the way to the 666 beast chapter at Revelation chapter 13, and throw those chapters away, the Bible that you hold in your hands has exactly 666 chapters!

That is old information. In light of the tetrad phenomenon, the new information is this: Proverbs chapter 30 happens to be chapter 532 counting from the last chapter of the Bible. The number 532 is the number of days spanning the first and last eclipses of a tetrad!

This is one coincidence linking Obama the beast and the tetrad.

But more intriguingly, the number of days between the revealing of the antichrist and his false prophet is precisely 532 + 532 + 532 days !!!!!! [From October 29, 2008 – Obama’s 30 – minute election campaign advertisement to March 13, 2013 – Pope Francis elected as head of the Roman Catholic Institution = 1596 days (532 + 532 + 532)!!!!]

Are the tetrads a sign for those watching that the rapture is about to happen?

When Obama first came on the scene back in 2008 and 2009, I was quite excited for obvious reason, seeing that the lawless one had taken the reins of world power; and soon the whole world would be ensnared under his demonic rule, but not before the bride was removed.

However, Obama’s first term came and went and we are still here. Now I am excited all over again because of three developments: 1) the appearance of the last pope; 2) the proposed two-state solution within nine months; and 3) the intriguing 8th tetrad.

Just imagine the total number of days of the three end-time tetrads is exactly the same as the total number of days between the appearing of the beast and the false prophet!

Isn’t the tetrad a sign of how close we are to the rapture?

The 666 Triangle

I will leave you with one more confirmation. The tetrad total, 1596 (532+532+532), turns out to be intimately linked to the most triangular of all triangular numbers — the beast number 666.

Let us start with the number 666.

The number 666 is the 36th triangular number (i.e. the bottommost layer consists of 36 counters). But the number 36 itself is another triangular number; it is the 8th triangular number.

The reason why 666 is very triangular in nature is that even its derived numbers are triangular — both 6 and 66 are triangular numbers as well. Beginning with the number 666, try extract as many triangular numbers as possible from it and see where it is leading to:

666 => 36th triangle => 8th triangle
66 => 11th triangle
6 => 3rd triangle => 2nd triangle

Try adding all the numbers above: 666+36+8+66+11+6+3+2 = 798

Guess what?

It is half the sum of the tetrad total, 1596 (532+532+532 = 798 + 798) !!

The three end-time tetrads conspired together to point to the two most important end-time prophetic players and to link them to the 666 triplet (666, 66, 6) and associated order numbers. One 666 triplet is attached to the beast and the other 666 triplet is attached to the false prophet.

God cannot be more precise and clear in the hidden message of the tetrad sign.

As if all these coincidences are not enough, the period spanning the first eclipse of 1949 and the last eclipse of 2015 is 66 years and 6 months !!!

66 years 6 months = 798 months = 666+36+8+66+11+6+3+2 months  !!!!!!

What are the odds of these happening?

Both the Bible verses (Pr 30:2 & Isa 61:6), and the tetrads, bear witness that Obama is the beast and Pope Francis is the false prophet.

We must be CLOSE to the rapture!

John

[I now leave you to ponder the following incredible mathematical anomalies connected with the sign of the 8th blood moon tetrad :

The historic meeting between Obama (the beast) and Pope Francis (the false prophet) took place on September 23, 2015 (the 266th day of the year). Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio took the name of Pope Francis after accepting his election as (the 266th) head of the Roman Catholic Institution.

Barack Obama was born on August 4, 1961 – the 216th (6 x 6 x 6) day of the year.

The name “Barak” first appears in the Bible at Judges 4:6 – the 6606th verse of the Bible (drop the zero) = 666. Judges 4:6 is the 216th (6 x 6 x 6) chapter of the Bible.

From Obama’s first inauguration (Jan. 20, 2009) to June 26, 2015 – the day same sex marriage was made legal by the U.S. government = 6 years 6 months and 6 days into his presidency.

Barack Obama was 666 months of age when Donald Trump was inaugurated as President of the U.S. on Jan. 20, 2017.

From the day of Obama’s first inauguration ( Jan. 20, 2009) to Pope Francis’ election day (Mar 13, 2013) = 216 (6 x 6 x 6) weeks!!]

Enter … Mark of the Beast!?

Revelation 13:16-17 :

16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. [KJV]

Although there are so very many topics within the realm of end time prophecy, perhaps the subject of the Mark of the Beast tops the list [as well it should be, with so very little time remaining prior to the Rapture event].

The very recent and stunning announcement made by the World Health Organization constrained me to share the following information.

Let me begin by saying that I’m very aware of how very controversial this topic is in “the world of Bible prophecy students” [as well as those who don’t even profess to embrace Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior]. For that reason, I’ve decided to address this issue by dividing it into two categories : (1) the facts – and – (2) my speculations. I certainly do not claim to know with certainty the exact nature or timing of the Mark of the Beast [i.e. – I haven’t received a “direct word” from God on the subject, that is, a “thus saith the Lord”].

However, due to the urgency of the hour that we’re now living in, I’ve decided to post this article [despite the risk I take at having the ire of the ‘scoffers’ and ‘haters’ slung my way].

(1) The Facts :

June 6, 2023 – The World Health Organization [WHO] announced the launching of the Global Digital Health Certification Network : https://www.who.int/initiatives/global-digital-health-certification-network > < https://www.precisionvaccinations.com/global-certificate-system-launches-june-2023 >

In 2019 – ‘The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’ asked Rice University to create a virus injection system that will allow human tracking of the recipients of the vaccine https://news.rice.edu/news/2019/quantum-dot-tattoos-hold-vaccination-record

(2) My Speculations … possible correlations between the number 666 and the Mark of the Beast via gematria.

The Number 666 and Gematria :

“Gematria” is simply adding the values of individual letters of the Hebrew or Greek alphabet in words. You see, both the Hebrew and Greek letters are assigned numerical values so that the letters also represent numbers. In other words, there are no separate characters used as numbers in either Greek or Hebrew like we have in English. In both Hebrew and Greek, the alphabet or the letters are also their numbers. Below are two charts that show the numeric value of each Hebrew letter and each Greek letter.

The 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet and Number values:

The 24 letters of the Greek alphabet and their Number values :

Revelation 13:18, “Here is WISDOM. Let him that hath understanding COUNT the NUMBER of the beast: for it is the NUMBER of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.”

We simply cannot possibly count without the use of numbers. The reason that the WISE man of UNDERSTANDING is to count the number of this man is so that we will NOT be DECEIVED by this man and his antichrist system to take the MARK of this BEAST.

Now let’s turn to the subject of English gematria. The idea of the English language being the most common language in the world today, or in the last of the LAST DAYS, it wouldn’t surprise me that Almighty God would use gematria in the English language as well as in Hebrew and Greek.

A=6 B=12 C=18 D=24 E=30 F=36 G=42 H=48 I=54

Hebrews 10:14 & The Efficacy of Christ’s Atoning Work

Hebrews 10:14, “For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.” [KJV]

Psalm 103:12, “As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He removed our transgressions from us.” [NKJV]

In my opinion, the foremost single passage in scripture presenting overwhelming evidence that all of a believer’s future sins have been covered at the moment of their regeneration is found in Hebrews 10:14. Again, it’s necessary to make it clear that what I’m specifically addressing here is future sin as it relates to a believer’s justified standing before God.

The very moment a person places their trust solely in Christ’s substitutionary death for the forgiven of their sins, they have permanently been remitted. All of their sins, as it pertains to their justification, to their legal standing before God, is forever blotted out … past, present, and future. The demonic hordes do not want humanity to discover or embrace this most precious gospel truth. They desperately strive to blind the minds of the multitudes into believing this reality is spurious, that it is “too good to be true”, or that it is “too easy”… they whisper into the ears of the unsuspecting, “surely there is something that we need to do in addition to placing our trust in Christ’s cross work for the permanent forgiveness of our sins and the eternal life which accompanies it.”

What I ask those who mistakenly believe that this message is “too easy”, or a form a “easy-believism is this … “if it is so easy to believe, then why do so few actually believe it?” How many truly believe this gospel truth, the one which truly defines the efficacy of the atonement? … a thought to seriously ponder.

Christ has either done nothing for us, or He has done everything … every person born into this world must decide concerning the issue of their righteousness before God [and the doctrine of justification]. To depend upon even the smallest measure upon our own merit is the very essence of unbelief; we must trust Christ for nothing or we trust Him for all… such is the teaching of the entire book of Galatians.

If Christ saves us only part way, and leaves a gap to be filled by our own good works, then we can never be certain of our salvation … and that assurance of salvation is clearly taught throughout the scriptures. It would become altogether impossible to fully rest upon Christ’s atoning work for our future entrance into Heaven if that were the case.

Hebrews 10:14, “For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.” [KJV].

Hebrews 10 :14 – Greek interlinear :

“By one [mia] for [gar] offering [prosphora] He has perfected [teteleiōken] for all time [eis to diēnekes] those [tous] being sanctified [hagiazomenous].”

“He has perfected” – root – Strong’s #5048. teleioó
teleioó: to bring to an end, to complete, perfect
Original Word: τελειόω
Part of Speech: Verb
Transliteration: teleioó
Phonetic Spelling: (tel-i-o’-o)
Definition: to bring to an end, to complete, perfect
Usage: (a) as a course, a race, or the like: I complete, finish (b) as of time or prediction: I accomplish, (c) I make perfect; pass: I am perfected.

“being sanctified” – root – Strong’s #37. hagiazó
hagiazó: to make holy, consecrate, sanctify
Original Word: ἁγιάζω
Part of Speech: Verb
Transliteration: hagiazó
Phonetic Spelling: (hag-ee-ad’-zo)
Definition: to make holy, consecrate, sanctify
Usage: I make holy, treat as holy, set apart as holy, sanctify, hallow, purify.

Generally speaking, those of the LOS [Loss Of Salvation or “Loss of Justification”] camp emphasize the aspect of the singularity of Christ’s sacrifice [i.e. – it’s completeness and sufficiency for the forgiveness and redemption of humanity throughout all of history] … “For by one offering.” That is, Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins [forever abolishing the need of it’s repetition, as well as the Old Covenant sacrificial system]. It was Christ’s singular act of atonement that provided a perfect and acceptable sacrifice which alone could satisfy God’s holy righteousness and justice].

On the other hand, the opposing camp, the OJAS [“Once Justified, Always Justified”] or OASAAS [“Once Actually Saved, Always Actually Saved”] advocates by and large focus upon the resulting effect of Christ’s singular sacrifice upon those who have placed their faith in it’s efficacy and sufficiency to obtain their right-standing before God … “he hath perfected for ever [for all time] them that are sanctified [those being sanctified].” To state it in a slightly different manner for further clarity … “those being sanctified” – all those who, from age to age, through faith receive as their own that which has been procured for all men.

Although it is true that we do not have an “either/or”, but rather a “both/and” scenario in view here [each camp representing one-half of the dual truths declared in Hebrews 10:14], it appears to me that there is compelling evidence contained within Hebrews 10:14 which supports the OJAJ position.

A critical question that needs to be addressed here is the following : “Should we view the sanctification spoken of here [“those being sanctified”] in a positional or progressive sense?”

Although it certainly appears to me that positional sanctification is in view here, a person’s perspective on this issue actually matters little as it pertains to the question of the forgiveness of a regenerated person’s future sin [as I will attempt to demonstrate by the following truth claims].

(1) A person cannot be progressively sanctified unless he/she has already been positionally sanctified [or set apart by God and considered to be holy in His eyes].

post #124 – page 7 < Can a genuine, blood-bought, regenerated believer forfeit their salvation? >

(2) A person cannot be sanctified in either a positional or progressive sense without also experiencing a justified status before God. [1 Corinthians 6:11].

(3) All those who have been justified will also be glorified [in both it’s “already” and “not yet” dimensions]. Although glorification is viewed as including a present [continuous] sanctifying/transformational work of the Holy Spirit operating in the lives of believers, there is also a future aspect attached to it … the reception of a glorified body – a resurrection body in Heaven.

post #92 – page 5 < Can a genuine, blood-bought, regenerated believer forfeit their salvation? >

post #103 – page 6 < Can a genuine, blood-bought, regenerated believer forfeit their salvation? >

Therefore, positional and progressive sanctification, as well as the [ultimate] redemption of the body, are states that will be actualized in all of those [“from age to age”] who experience a justified status before God by way of the new birth … “For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his.” – Romans 6:5 [English Standard Version].

Romans 3:25,”Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;”

The above passage is perhaps the most misunderstood passage concerning this issue. Many make the assumption that this verse is stating that when a person applies the blood of Christ to their hearts by faith, it is only their past sins that have been blotted out. But is this actually the case? … not at all. I agree with the perspective that is provided in the Jamieson-Fausset-Brown Bible Commentary :

verses 25, 26 – Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation—or “propitiatory sacrifice. “through faith in his blood—Some of the best interpreters, observing that “faith upon” is the usual phrase in Greek, not “faith in” Christ, would place a “comma” after “faith,” and understand the words as if written thus: “to be a propitiation, in His blood, through faith.” But “faith in Christ” is used in Galatians 3:26 and Ephesians 1:15; and “faith in His blood” is the natural and appropriate meaning here.

to declare his righteousness for the remission—rather, “pretermission” or “passing by.”

of sins—”the sins.”

that are past—not the sins committed by the believer before he embraces Christ, but the sins committed under the old economy, [the Old Testament] before Christ came to “put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.”

through the forbearance of God—God not remitting but only forbearing to punish them, or passing them by, until an adequate atonement for them should be made. In thus not imputing them, God was righteous, but He was not seen to be so; there was no “manifestation of His righteousness” in doing so under the ancient economy. But now that God can “set forth” Christ as a “propitiation for sin through faith in His blood,” the righteousness of His procedure in passing by the sins of believers before, and in now remitting them, is “manifested,” declared, brought fully out to the view of the whole world. [Our translators have unfortunately missed this glorious truth, taking “the sins that are past” to mean the past sins of believers—committed before faith—and rendering, by the word “remission,” what means only a “passing by”; thus making it appear that “remission of sins” is “through the forbearance of God,” which it certainly is not].

The Genuineness of your Faith

1 Peter 1:6-7,”In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise,
honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,”

If a person has truly trusted in Christ’s substitutionary death and subsequent resurrection from the grave for the forgiveness of their sins, they have experienced saving faith [and have received eternal life by virtue of having been placed into union with Christ – the embodiment of eternal life].

“In this you greatly rejoice” (v.6):

The critical question that needs to be pondered here is: “If any genuine follower of Christ will ever fail these trials to the destruction of their souls [the forfeiture of their salvation], then how could the possibility of rejoicing in them even exist? After all, the eternal destiny of their souls are yet to be determined, that is, if any one of them will actually fail the test.

Someone may ask, “must a person pass the test of faith in order to receive a Heavenly entrance? To that I answer “yes”. Will all those who have genuinely been regenerated by the Holy Spirit receive a heavenly inheritance? To that I also answer “yes” … do you see how that works?

The testing of a person’s professed faith spoken of throughout scripture is one that reveals the true nature of that person’s faith. In other words, was it genuine, saving faith? … did that individual actually place all of their trust in Christ’s atoning work? … or did they place it somewhere or anywhere else [such as their moral performance i.e. their good works, their water baptism, their church attendance, etc., etc.?

It’s not a test to see who, after being truly regenerated, will subsequently forfeit/lose their eternal life and ultimately be cast into the Lake of fire to perish eternally … this simply is not the gospel message, rather, it’s one that constitutes the “another Jesus” and the “different gospel” that Paul warned about in 2 Corinthians 11:4 and Galatians 1:8.

It’s so very important to understand this vital aspect of the believer’s eternal security. Here is what I perceive to be a common misconception of this issue among those who embrace the conditional eternal security of the believer:

The assertion is that the believer is placed into some type of probationary period in which they may or may not successfully complete. That is, if they remain faithful enough, then they will ultimately secure for themselves a future entrance into heaven.

However, I believe the scriptural evidence supports the claim that God will preserve the faith of all genuine believers,He will successfully keep and lead them to their heavenly inheritance. This is precisely what was stated in the prior verses :

1 Peter 1:3-5, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”

“who are kept by the power of God” (v.5):

The Greek word for “kept” is actually a military term speaking of a sentinel guarding a king or a fortress. It is the perfect picture of God’s guarding over a believer’s soul.

5432 phrouréo (from phrousos, “a sentinel, guard”) – properly, to guard (keep watch) like a military sentinel; (figuratively) to actively display whatever defensive and offensive means are necessary to guard.
phroureó: to guard
Original Word: f??????
Part of Speech: Verb
Transliteration: phroureó
Phonetic Spelling: (froo-reh’-o)
Definition: to guard
Usage: I guard, keep, as by a military guard.

The military of God would be the angelic host and the Holy Spirit Himself. God will guard His own against everything in creation that will come against their faith and cause them to depart from the faith.

The Greek word that we translate as “grace” in English is composed of two letters – “Chet” and “nun.” when we combine the meaning of their word pictures, we discover the following truth claims :

(1) God produces life in us, and then puts a fence or wall of protection around that life so that it may not be destroyed or removed.

(2) The new birth that God graciously initiates in every believer delivers us from the bondage of sin, and by God’s Holy Spirit produces eternal life.

To view the above information and more on the subject, watch the following two minute YouTube video, “Grace in ancient Hebrew” [RockIslandBooks]

I trust in Elohim’s might and power with the ultimate protection and preservation of my soul. My God is mighty in battle, He will not fail in His militaristic pursuits, He will successfully secure an entrance into heaven for all who have [past tense] experienced the new birth! [John 3:3-8].

Ephesians 1:13-14,”In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.”

It is God the Holy Spirit that “seals the deal.” In 1 Peter 1:4, the Apostle had been speaking about an inheritance “incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you.” So then, we see that God’s power is working on both sides of the veil, preserving the inheritance for the heirs, and preserving the heirs for the
inheritance. He will not fail to preserve them, and they will not miss out on their inheritance; what a precious dual promise!!.. how can I not overflow with love and everlasting gratitude toward my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ??!!

2 Cor.13:5,”Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified.”

“unless indeed you are disqualified.”:

The Greek word for “disqualified” is adókimos (Strongs # G96)
Strong’s Definition – From G1 (as a negative particle) and G1384; unapproved, that is,
rejected; by implication worthless (literally or morally): – castaway, rejected, reprobate.

Thayer’s Definition – 1. not standing the test, not approved a. properly used of metals and coins. 2. that which does not prove itself such as it ought a. unfit for, unproved,
spurious, reprobate.

The word adókimos is derived from the testing of metals, and the casting aside of those that are spurious or counterfeit.

There is no allusion here to the sense of failing the test as a genuine believer subsequent to regeneration, but rather to an individual’s sincere introspection and evaluation as to whether or not they qualify as the genuine article [i.e. subject themselves to the scrutiny of their own consciences].

“whether you are in the faith” – whether you are true Christians, whether you possess true faith in the gospel.

If a person is an authentic follower of Christ, then they will not fail the test. It only logically follows, if a person is a genuine believer, it is not possible that they fail the test as being a genuine believer.

“Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith.”

My friends, here is where “the pedal hits the metal (pun intended),” This is where we are heading full speed into a reality check that brings with it eternal implications. All who profess to be followers of Christ must subject themselves to a sincere evaluation of their spiritual condition.

What is the test of genuineness?… in other words, What is the evidence that a person is a true believer (that they have truly been born again – John 3:3-8)? The following is certainly not a comprehensive listing, but a brief overview of the critical characteristics that true followers of Christ possess :

(1) A love for, and longing to be with other believers. (1 John 4:7-8,20).

(2) A hunger for, and ability to understand the Bible. (John 6:33-35Matt.5:6Ps.119; 1 Cor.2:14-16).

(3) A desire to see others receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior (and rescued from eternal destruction). (Rom.9:1-3Jude 1:23).

(4) A repulsion or abhorrence towards sinful behavior. (Ps.45:797:10; Proverb 8:13; Heb.1:9).

(5) A supreme love for God (Matt.22:37-381 John 4:19), and desire to please and obey Him. (1 John 2:151 John 2:5John 14:21-25Ps.119:47-48).

(6) An assurance of being a child of God, and experiencing a future reception of the heavenly inheritance. (John5:246:4010:28Rom.8:16,38-392 Cor.5:4-5Eph.4:30;
Phil.1:61 Pet.1:231 John 3:14,19,245:11-13).

There is a popular saying that runs like this … “What doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger.” Biblically speaking, we may often ask ourselves, “what is the purpose of our trials and tribulations?”…quite frankly, there are many times that I grow very weary of them.

Think of trials as training! God has to train His troops. Have you ever heard of any staff sergeant who got to where he was without going through tough situations? God has to prepare His children for the future.

“A gem cannot be polished without friction, nor a man perfected without trials.”

“Being on a spiritual path does not prevent you from facing the darkness, but it teaches you how to use the darkness as a tool to grow.”

The endurance of our faith, despite the many rigorous trials, evidences and provides the true [saving] nature of our faith … it’s genuineness. The failure to endure reveals the counterfeit/spurious nature of a person’s profession of faith.

“Trials teach us what we are; they dig up the soil, and let us see what we are made of.” – Charles Spurgeon. God already knows what we are made of, but do we? Do we personally possess the assurance that we are His child? [Romans 8:16].

So, in the end, we discover that what is really the most important question in any person’s life is not, ” Will I actually forfeit [lose] my salvation?”, but instead, “Have I actually been born-gain?, that is, am I actually a new creation in Christ?” [John 3:3-8; Titus 3:5-7; 2 Corinthians 5:17].

Galatians 6:15, “For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new creation.”

Justified & Preserved by the Faith of Christ

Galatians 2:16,20,”Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ [pistis Christou], even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ [pistis Christou], and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.”…[vs.20],” I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God [pistis Christou], who loved me, and gave himself for me.” [KJV]

The expression “faith of Christ” appears in Galatians in 2:16 (twice); 2:20 [‘Son of God’]; and 3:22. It appears elsewhere in Romans 3:22Philippians 3:9, and Eph.3:12 [‘faith of him’].

The earlier standard of English Protestant translations, the KJV, translated the phrase as “faith of Christ,” which was changed in most of the more modern English translations. The NET [New English Translation] and the 1599 Geneva Bible are a couple of the notable exceptions.

Over the last several decades, a lively debate has been taking place over the meaning of the phrase “faith of Christ” or “faith of Jesus Christ” in Paul’s writings. And because this debate is over whether the phrase “pistis Christou” means “faith in Christ or “the faith[fulness] of Christ”; it is commonly referred to as “the pistis Christou debate.”

The debate becomes very important when we consider it’s affects on how we present the gospel and understand salvation. The two principal ways this phrase is currently translated in the debate are Jesus Christ’s faith/faithfulness, or, faith in Jesus Christ. Thus, the person named can be either the doer [the subject] or the receiver [the object] of the action implied by the other noun – faith, in this case.

The issue at stake is whether these genitive constructions should be translated as objective genitives, “faith in Christ,” or as subjective genitives, “faith of Christ.” Consequently, if we take our phrase in the subjective sense, the meaning is the faith or faithfulness that Jesus Christ displays, while the objective sense is expressed as faith directed to Jesus Christ.

This kind of ambiguity is common in language, and we depend on something in the context or our experience to determine the correct meaning. For instance, when Paul says, “The love of Christ compels us” in 2 Corinthians 5:14 [NIV], does he mean our love for Christ (objective genitive), or Christ’s love for us (subjective genitive)? Although either possibility exists in both the Greek and the English, as it pertains to the subject at hand, the grammatical evidence appears to favor recognizing “pistis Christous” as a subjective genitive.

Two passages are critical for me in establishing a grammatical base for a subjective genitive reading. First, although arguments for and against subjective genitive readings have appealed to sources outside Paul’s writings and have been used to strengthen their arguments, the most significant passage must be Romans 4:16 …”Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all.”

Here Paul uses a genitive construction without a definite article, that can only be read as a subjective genitive. It is clearly Abraham’s faith that Paul refers to, not our faith in Abraham. This passage proves that Paul understood and used genitive constructions when he wanted to talk of the “faith of” an individual.

The second is found in Galatians 2:16 …”knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by the faith of Jesus Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.”

In addition to encouraging a faith in Christ – “even we have believed in Christ Jesus”, this verse also includes two examples of pistis Christou. The context suggests to me that Paul is making a distinction between the roles of the faith of Christ and the believer’s faith in Christ in this passage. If he is not making this distinction, then the passage reads as follows: “Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by faith in Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.”

Although some disagree by asserting that the threefold reading of “faith in Christ” is for emphasis, the grammatical makeup of the verse strongly suggests to me that Paul is here distinguishing between the two critical requirements for justification before God. This is especially so due to the ‘hina’ clause that joins the two phrases: “we have have believed in Jesus Christ” and “we might be justified by “pistis Christou.” The Greek conjunction ‘hina’ [‘in order that’] shows that the second phrase is a consequence of the first, not just a restatement, requiring “the faith of Christ” as the correct rendering of “pistis Christou.”

Those who gravitate toward a performance based acceptance before God have an extremely difficult time processing, and/or accepting “pistis Christous” as a subjective genitive; perhaps because this subjective genitive perspective provides yet another reminder as to why every believer can be assured of the reception of their heavenly inheritance by virtue of being “in Christ”. It’s a very compelling and eye-opening aspect of Paul’s theology because it emphasizes that salvation is rooted in God’s grace in Christ rather than our faith.

This is not to say that a person’s faith in Christ isn’t an essential component in salvation, but at the end of the day, it is Christ and His blood, rather than our faith, that provides the only sufficient ground of any person’s salvation. The issue is not “either/or” but “both/and”… but first and foremost we are to place our focus and trust in Christ’s faith[fulness] rather than faith in our faith. Apart from this mindset we are at risk of turning the channel of faith into an act or a “work” that merits salvation. Perhaps another way of stating it would be …we are to place our faith in the faith/faithfulness of Christ, which without … “ye have believed in vain.” [ 1 Cor.15:2].

The issues involved in this discussion are complex. I am not attempting to undergo a thorough exegesis of all the many relevant texts, but rather to shed more light upon the issue. One of my goals is to demonstrate that reading ‘the righteousness of God’ as God’s righteousness, and the ‘faith of Christ’ as Christ’s faith/fulness is thoroughly consistent with the rightly cherished Protestant doctrine of ‘justifcation by faith alone.'[primarily ‘the imputed righteousness of Christ’].

Romans 3:20-24,”Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ [pistis Christou] unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:”

Philippians 3:9,”And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ [‘pistis Christou’], the righteousness which is of God by faith:”

“The righteousness which is of God” can only be obtained by virtue of being in ‘union with Christ’ [being found ‘in him’]. This righteousness originates from God through the faith[fulness] of Christ, and is imputed to all those who do not trust in their righteousness [or moral acts] in order for their justification, but instead have believed in Christ’s.

Those who trust in their moral actions and performance as the ground of their justification before God cannot be justified in the eyes of God , and consequently will never receive assurance that their sins have been forgiven [while, as long as] they remain in that mindset.

The enemy of our souls, Satan, doesn’t want any person who imagines or considers themselves to be accepted in the eyes of God to know that they aren’t; or, that they can and will receive the blessed assurance of their salvation, that is, the forgiveness of their sins, their acceptance before God, and a future Heavenly home by solely placing their trust in Christ’s righteousness and not any of their own. Justification comes as a free gift by the grace of God through the redemption that is in Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:21,”For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”

Ephesians 3:12,”In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him [pistis Christou].”

So, do we place our faith in “being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:” [Romans 3:24] …or by our performance and best efforts?… the answer appears to be very obvious. If this be true, why would anyone suppose that they continue in a justified position on the ground of self performance [best efforts]?

Some claim that a genuine believer may fall from, or forfeit, their justified position by failing to continue placing their faith in Christ. However, a believer’s faith was never, at any time, the ground of their justification, it was the only appointed means to receive the free gift of salvation …”lest any man should boast.”[Eph.2:9]. Once a person commits to placing their sole confidence in Christ’s atoning work for their salvation, their nature will undergo a radical transformation at the point of regeneration, resulting in a trusting, or faith, that will never totally or ultimately be extinguished.

2 Timothy 1:12,”For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.”

Philippians 1:6,”Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:”

To read the expression ‘pistis Christou’ as a reference to Christ’s faith[fulness] does not detract from the essentialness of the believer’s faith; for everywhere Paul uses the phrase he juxtaposes another expression which unambiguously denotes a human response. However, to read it as the Christian’s belief in Christ [faith in Christ] neglects important Pauline instruction concerning Christ’s redemptive work.

Summary/Key Points :

(1) God’s grace as the source of the believer’s justification.

(2) The nature of justification as a judicial verdict, by which God grants to sinners a new righteous status, on the basis of Christ’s death.

(3) Faith, trust in Christ, as the sole instrument through which God’s grace of justification is received.

I agree with Murray Smith’s [following] perspective on this issue :

“[The points listed above] are all clearly evident in Romans 3:21-26 [but most certainly not limited to those verses]. Nevertheless, the apostle’s emphasis in this crucial paragraph is first theological and Christo-centric : he affirms, first and foremost, that the gospel reveals and vindicates God’s own righteousness, manifested in Christ’s trusting obedience to the Father, even to the point of death, and that this work of Christ provides the only ground for the justification of all who believe.

Indeed, far from posing a threat to the long-cherished Reformed doctrine of justification by grace through faith alone, this understanding of Paul’s argument in Romans 3 provides it with deeper roots. For if the gospel reveals God’s own righteousness, it reveals nothing less than God’s commitment to act in accordance with his own name, the name which declares that he is ‘the Lord, the Lord, gracious and compassionate, abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness’. On this reading, Paul’s affirmation that justification comes from God’s free grace is not limited to the brief statement in Romans 3:24 [‘by his grace as a gift’], but deeply anchored in the very name of God.

In the same way, if the gospel reveals that God’s righteousness has been manifested in Christ’s faith/fulness, ‘the blood’ which provides the ground for the sinner’s justification is no arbitrary sacrifice, but the culmination of the perfect trusting obedience of the true Adam, the son of David, whose sacrifice of himself fully satisfies God’s justice precisely because it was the one and only sacrifice offered in perfect faith.”

“Christian Deconversion”? – Part 5

A few years back, Jon Steingard, the lead singer for the popular Christian band Hawk Nelson, announced on Instagram that he no longer believed in God. His story is a long one filled with doubts and theological wrestling over many years prior to the rescinding of his professed faith in Christianity.

“Former Christian Music Singer Jon Steingard: I No Longer Believe in God”

Key quotes from video :

@59:30 – the host asks Jon – “would you go back to May 20th and just not hit the “send” button on this deal [Jon’s public renunciation of his professed faith in Christianity]? … Jon replies – “no, once you’re unplugged from the [matrix] you can’t go back”. Here’s another possible way of restating Jon’s statement … “once you no longer believe in the faith you’ve once professed … you could never actually, and would never desire to ‘believe’ again] … the ‘door to salvation’ has become forever barred from entrance]” …

Matrix – (slang, figurative) a term describing a controlled environment or situation in which people act or behave in ways that conform to roles pre-determined by a powerful person(s) who decides how the world is supposed to function.

When you hear about the Matrix, everyone’s like, “Oh that movie starring Keanu Reeves.” Or to go a little deeper, the Matrix is the simulated reality that humans are in. The Matrix hides the truth from humanity, allowing them to live a convincing, simulated life while machines grow and harvest people to use as an ongoing energy source.

Apply this definition now to the world of “Christianity’, to the broad umbrella of people, “church denominations, and organizations that profess to be connected to it. Does anyone really suppose that all the people under that umbrella, those who profess to be “Christians”, are genuine believers/followers of Jesus Christ? Many suppose [perhaps like Jon] that they were actually genuine believers when in reality they were embracing a counterfeit version of it … one which their particular version of “Christianity” convinced them was true, or perhaps their particular experience of it led them to believe at one time that they were genuine followers of Christ.

So, with that said, is Jon’s statement …. “once you’re unplugged from the matrix you can’t go back” Biblically accurate? Has John actually barred himself, or been barred by God from a future opportunity for salvation? [it’s my opinion that this is not the case ….and for those who do believe it to be the case, will you just give up on trying to reach him for Christ?].

Let’s examine a hypothetical scenario based on Jon’s reply. Supposing that the ‘LOS’ [‘Loss Of Salvation’ for some genuine Christians] position was actually what the Bible is telling us, Jon wouldn’t ever be able to regain that salvation that he once possessed, but later, over time … forfeited [ a position/scenario that I disagree with]. The primary verses that the LOS camp appeal to in order to support their claim is found in Hebrews 6:4-6 :

4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,

5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

Personally, I disagree with the above LOS position [held primarily by Arminians]. However, this doesn’t imply that my position is that of the Calvinist … my position can basically be described as a ‘1-point Calvinist’ – the “P” of the ‘T.U.L.I.P’. – the inevitable perseverance of the saints. My position in this case is one which rejects both the traditional Arminian and Calvian perspectives. Here I adopt a very important principle borrowed from the Molinist perspective which highlights the obvious hypothetical nature of the topic at hand [the “if” of Hebrews 6:6].

Here’s my position on the matter : < post #100 – page #5 Can a genuine, blood-bought, regenerated believer forfeit their salvation? > < post #133 – page #7 Can a genuine, blood-bought, regenerated believer forfeit their salvation? > < posts #166 & #179 – page #9 Can a genuine, blood-bought, regenerated believer forfeit their salvation? > posts #324 & #331 – page #17 Can a genuine, blood-bought, regenerated believer forfeit their salvation? >

And yes, there are many 1-point Calvinists out there … not merely those who apply certain Molinist principles/perspectives such as myself [as the commercial below says … lol]

“M&Ms Christmas Commercial: THEY DO EXIST!”

Now, returning to the first video posted in this article featuring Jon Steingard …

Starting @27:08 minutes into the video, Jon states his primary reason for renouncing his priorly professed faith … the problem of evil. This of course would fall under the broader category sometimes referred to as Epicurus’ trilemma – “If God is unable to prevent evil, then he is not all-powerful. If God is not willing to prevent evil, then he is not all-good. If God is both willing and able to prevent evil, then why does evil exist?”

Below I’ve included 3 inspiring and riveting videos that hopefully will help some of you who have, or are, wrestling with doubts that emanate from Epicurus’ trilemma. From my vantage point they could serve as an important tool in answering some [if not most] of the challenging questions that the scoffers often appeal to.

Many [perhaps even all?] followers of Christ will [sooner or later] struggle to one degree or another with some of the questions pertaining to the topic. Mature followers of Christ realize that they will never come close to having all of the answers on this side of Heaven… but have more than sufficient, that is, compelling evidence that provides them with full confidence in Biblical Christianity.

“The Problem of Suffering and Evil (1) – William Lane Craig at Aalborg University”

@15:09 minutes – “Is there a logical contradiction between the two statements : A. An all-loving, all-powerful God exists … and … suffering exists?” … @16:24 minutes – “Hidden Assumptions Made by the Atheist : 1. If God is all-powerful, He can create any world that He wants … and … 2. If God is all-loving, He prefers a world without suffering.”

“The Problem of Suffering and Evil (2) – William Lane Craig at Aalborg University”

@15:05 minutes – intro to Craig’s ensuing statement – “So, if we can’t infer from all the evil in the world that a good God exists, we could not infer from the good in the world that some evil being does not exist….and my response to this is to say that’s right, the two cases are just on a par. Given the complexity of life, it is correct that you cannot judge whether or not the Creator of the world is good or bad by doing this sort of inductive survey of the ‘goods’ and the ‘evils’ in the world….”

“Watch Defenders LIVE! // The Emotional Problem of Evil”

@16:24 mins. “At the end of the day, God is still the only solution to the problem of evil. If God does not exist, then we are locked without hope with a world filled with pointless and gratuitous [unwarranted] suffering. God is the final answer to the problem of suffering, for He redeems us from evil, and He takes us into the everlasting joy of an incommensurable [incomparable] good which is fellowship with Himself.”

“Christian Deconversion”? – Part 4

There’s no doubt in my mind that there is a profound element of mystery attached with the topic of Christian deconversion. It’s due primarily to the fact that there are only two individuals that can be certain about the genuineness of their status before God [i.e – whether or not they have truly been regenerated by the Holy Spirit] …. the believer and God [of course this is excluding the possibility of a person receiving a direct revelation from God concerning another person’s status].

In other words, it’s totally subjective, there simply isn’t any objective scriptural truth available to provide us with a definite answer. And yes, we can look at another person’s fruits to provide us with partial evidence, however, that evidence can never be conclusive, it’s only the inward witness of the Holy Spirit within the individual themselves that can provides absolute certitude to the reality. Romans 8:16, “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.”

The subject I now speak of pertains to those who are in the process of rescinding their professed faith concerning the core doctrines of the Christian faith [as opposed to those persons who are deconstructing certain false beliefs/doctrines that are held by many individuals and institutions within the umbrella of the Christian faith – as shown in my previous post]. It’s addressing those who now have publicly renounced Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior as well as the entirety of the Christian faith [as they viewed it].

It isn’t addressing those who are currently struggling with the various questions within Christianity that are causing them to have some degree of doubt. Here’s a very short list of those topics/arguments that are often brought to the forefront by the widespread atheist websites and organizations in an attempt to discredit/disprove the Christian faith as being authoritative :

(1) the lack of evidence for Divine inspiration of scripture.

(2) the “hiddenness” of God.

(3) the nature of salvation – the many conflicting views amongst “Christians” concerning what must a person do in order to be accepted before a Holy God.

(4) the Epicurus’ trilemma – If God is unable to prevent evil [the extreme suffering of both innocent humans and animals], then He is not all-powerful. If God is not willing to prevent evil, then He is not all-good.

(5) the inconsistency of a loving God with the existence of eternal torment in hell.

Now, there may be some of you that may suppose that it’s a very dangerous thing to bring these arguments to the surface. However, I believe that the scriptures clearly provide compelling evidence for my claim that not a single, genuine believer will ever fully deconvert [and forfeit their accepted/justified status before God].

Therefore, although genuine believers may deeply struggle with various questions [as well as troubling circumstances] during their journeys… God will remain faithful to preserve their confidence in the person and atoning work of Jesus Christ until the end of their earthly journeys … 2 Timothy 1:12, “For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.”

Therefore, as good stewards before our God, we should come before Him and ask Him to help us refute their claims and defend the faith [which is at the same time serves as a powerful faith builder] … rather than being fearful to address them … 1 Peter 3:15, “But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.”

From all that I’ve seen, there is a consistency from those sharing their deconversion stories. The primary reason that is given by these people for their departure can usually be found on the short list aforementioned … the (5) reasons that the atheists/agnostics appeal to for the rejection of the Christian faith. The video link [provided below] provides yet another example of this. Jaden’s testimony is also so very sad, her words testify how truly confused she was from the very onset of her “Christian” journey.

And what if [and I believe a very strong case can be made for the likelihood] her case is actually one which she was never a genuine Christian, but only assumed herself to be one? It appears to me that a potentially catastrophic consequence is likely to arise when such a spurious sense of reality exists in her mind. That is to say, it may very well diminish the likelihood of her truly trusting alone in Christ’s atoning work for her salvation in the future. Perhaps this provides us with yet another real life example of the vast importance of Jesus’ exhortation to strive to enter through the narrow gate. A person must genuinely and diligently seek out the only path that leads to a genuine conversion/born again experience while they yet have breath in their lungs … Luke 13:23,24,” Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.”

“Why I Am No Longer Christian| Leaving Religion”

Key points made by Jaden :

@6:06 minutes – “You know, I don’t wanna go to hell … and that is a big part of it is like … I felt like it was really fear driven.” = point (5) – the subject of hell is constantly alluded to [and many, in my opinion, have failed to understand the true nature of hell] although Jaden never gave us her perspective of it. [to view my further remarks/perspective on the topic] : < post #89 – What would you as an annihilationist have said? > …… < post #29 – Does Hell exist? > …… < post #6 – Does Hell exist? >

@9:02 minutes – “the next thing I didn’t really didn’t agree with was the idea that you’re never really good enough, or even if you’re a good person it doesn’t matter because you don’t give yourself over to your Lord … you know, you won’t be saved”. = point (3) – a confused understanding of the nature of salvation [and particularly the relationship between faith and works as it pertains to receiving an accepted/righteous status before God].

@9:37 minutes – “You know, well I’m saved and I gave my life to God but you’re not changing your actions … to me that doesn’t line up.” = the reality that exists under the overarching umbrella of “Christianity”. It’s my conviction that no amount of the widespread hypocrisy that is exhibited in all it’s various forms [both doctrinally as well as practically] by professed Christians will never ultimately cause a genuine believer to permanently renounce Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

“Christian Deconversion”? – Part 3

Deconversion, Deconstruction, and Reconstruction – A deeper look down the rabbit hole :

What is a deconstruction story in Christianity? –
Faith deconstruction, also known as deconstructing faith, evangelical deconstruction, the deconstruction movement, or simply deconstruction, is a Christian phenomenon where people unpack, rethink and examine their belief systems. This may lead to dropping one’s professed faith altogether [deconversion] or may result in a stronger faith [reconstruction].

“What is Christian Deconstruction | Zach Davies | Ep. 29

@20:29 mins – “When I talk to people, the problem is not with Jesus. The problem often revolves around church … church herds, and things that they misunderstood, or have heard Christians say that doesn’t reconcile for them with who they understand Jesus to be.”….. And so, as long as we are keeping the foundation [the work and person of Jesus Christ], you’re in a good spot.”

Please do not confuse leaving a particular version [or all versions] of the organized “church” systems with departing from a relationship with the person of Jesus Christ … they are two entirely different concepts. This is explained in part in the following article [which I can so relate to, since many aspects of Ken Eckerty’s journey mirrors my own].

“Why I Left the Organized Church – A Personal Testimony”
https://www.pilkingtonandsons.com/art_eckerty_whyileft.pdf

Introduction to Ken Eckerty’s personal testimony :

The word used in the new Testament for “church” is the Greek word ekklesia which literally means a “gathering” or an “assembly” of believers. It is the means and the vehicle that God has chosen to fill all things with the glory and preeminence of His Son. The saints gather together to manifest Christ and encourage and build one another up in Him. Each member manifests a measure of Christ thus bringing fulness to His Body.

Jesus said in Matthew 18:20 that “where two or three are gathered together in His name, He is in their midst”. This could take place anywhere ; in a home, on a boat, in a park, and yes, even in a “church” building. When two or three [or more] saints gather and sing together, or pray together, or exhort one another then they have fulfilled the New Testament meaning of ekklesia. In other words, God’s true Assembly is not a building, or an organization which holds to a particular creed, but a people who have been redeemed by grace through faith in Jesus Christ – and understanding this truth is so very critical to understanding what true Christianity consists of.

Going to a church building is done perhaps a few times a week … being the Church is a daily lifestyle. Many accuse those of “forsaking the assembling of believers” because they do not “go to church” or meet the way they think “church” must be done… they simply have an impaired understanding of what the word ekklesia denotes in scripture. The New Testament does not tell us how to worship, it simply tells us to do it. Just because some elect to not worship the way the majority of professing believers do today, does not mean that they have forsaken the assembly of themselves with fellow believers.

When I refer to the term “organized church”, I’m referring to that system of denominationalism that says “worship must be conducted in a certain manner”, and “sign on to an entire list of doctrinal truth statements [whether you believe in the entire list or not … not simply the primary doctrines concerning salvation] in order to become a “member” of their organization” – which they deem to be the true test of a person’s genuineness… this is how far have we fallen [as a whole] from New Testament Christianity in these last of the last days prior to Christ’s return to the Earth.

The scriptures make it clear that the very moment that a person is born again and indwelt with the Holy Spirit, they become joints heirs with Christ and members of the [universal] Body of Christ [1 Corinthians 12:12-27] … the hard questions one must ask at this point is, “how can such a spiritual blindness/ mind-set exist in a genuine follower of Jesus Christ? and, “why do so many professing Christians have such a hard time comprehending this?”

Perhaps some of you can relate to the following narrative described by Micah Murray :

“when we criticize the church”
When We Criticize the Church – Micah J. Murray

“We were sold a package deal…

Truth and lies, hope and despair, real and fake – all tied up in a neat package with a bow and sold to us with the label of “Christianity”. The men in the suits with all the words told us that what they taught was true. They said it would fill the aching emptiness in our hearts, that it would get us into Heaven. They told us that it was the only way. We believed them because we were children, and because their voices were the only voices we’d ever heard. With piles of Bible verses and mountains of logic and waves of emotion, they constructed a package deal. And we bought it.

Then we grew up.

When we grew up, we stepped outside the doors of the churches where we had been sold “Christianity” and found that the package wasn’t enough. The neat answers and the principles and the trite songs and the out-of-context Bible verses were dissonant and flat in the world we discovered. Many of us have never set foot inside a church since then.

Some of us clung to the right answers, trying to “walk by faith”, trusting that “His ways are higher than our ways”. Ignoring the cognitive dissonance. Ignoring the unanswerable questions. Trying so desperately hard to please God. Trying so desperately hard to convince ourselves that this was “life more abundantly”. Always nagged by the thought that maybe we just weren’t trying hard enough. Nagged by the fear that the whole thing, the whole package deal named “Christianity”, was a lie.

Then somewhere between the aching loneliness and the lurking agnosticism, in the terrifying darkness, we saw a glimmer of hope. The voice of Jesus whispering above all the words we’d heard about Him. His love reaching past all we’d seen done in His name. His hands gently beginning to untie the neat bow that had tied up the package deal so cleanly and kept us so cruelly from freedom.

So we began, unconsciously, the process of deconstructing our “Christianity”. It’s a long and difficult journey, and often it feels like there’s no compass. See, we’d been taught the Bible was the source of all truth, and that whatever was footnoted with a Bible verse was true. We’d been told that there was only one way to interpret it, and that any other way was wrong and dangerous. Then we began to realize that many of those things so neatly footnoted with Bible verses were simply not true. Not because the Bible was not true, but because the hermeneutic was flawed. We realized that you could find a Bible verse to support any view, no matter how broken or twisted. And so the admonition to “just trust the Bible” held little comfort, because we were unable to read the Bible without hearing the words of all those men in suits selling us truth and lies mixed together.

With that package finally torn open and spilled out, we’re now analyzing it piece by piece.”

“Christian Deconversion”? – Part 2

In my prior post I wrote, “In other words, did these people [professing Christian “deconverters”] ever truly believe that it is only “by grace through faith and not of works” that a person can be saved with such admissions? The following video is just one, in the avalanche of testimonial videos, which illustrates this recurring theme :

“Leaving Evangelical Christianity – An Intro”

Starting @6:38 mins. into her videos she says, “I just thought about that because this person was a fine person, they were living their life and they just didn’t seem to need the Christian teaching”. So that kept happening …”they don’t need this Christian stuff, their lives are fine without it. They are playing their part in society, they’re doing well, they’re benefiting by being good people in society.” …

Who am I to tell people in Australia, in a completely different culture than me, who are doing fine following their own versions of life? They are not hurting anybody and they are doing just fine. Who am I to infiltrate their life and say, “hey you need this Jesus stuff, and if you don’t accept it, unfortunately you are going to go to hell?”

So, in a nutshell, she’s declaring that “good people don’t need the salvation that Jesus offers.”

So I ask you, does it appear to you like this woman [“Dee”], or the multitudes of people that share similar testimonies, ever believed that they were sinners in danger of the wrath of God, and in desperate need of His forgiveness? Did they ever actually understand or receive as truth the clear declaration of Ephesians 2:8-9 that clearly states … not of works [not because of any of our “superlative feats of morality” that we perform]?

To further illustrate, in another one of her videos entitled, “Why Christians argue about who ‘Real’ Christians are”, she says [similar to the masses of “deconverters”]…

“The whole saying, a “True Scotsman” applies to Christianity when people like to point at people who used to be Christians and say, ‘they were never true Christians’, or ‘they just didn’t understand’ … it has to do with their theological standpoints though. People who can’t admit that their theology could be wrong, it’s not complicated, it’s just a lot to unpack. If somebody says that to you and they are a fundamentalist type of Christian, it’s because they literally cannot accept your past as being reality, because if they do, that means they will have to admit their theology is wrong. ****They have to go with the Bible is true over what may happen in reality. If they conflict, they automatically support what the bible says, even if it doesn’t match reality”****

****Did you catch that?****… in the end, it’s reality a question of [human] subjective truth [what I feel, what I experience] or [scriptural] objective truth [what God’s Word declares as reality], that is to say, which one ‘trumps’ or ‘takes precedence over’ the other [which does not imply the total elimination of the another] … these “deconverters” have chosen the wrong answer … subjective truth.****

It appears to me that closely related to this issue is the “deconverters” rejection of Biblical reliability. They claim that there really isn’t any solid evidence for the scriptures being inspired by God. Here’s a couple of breathtaking videos that I would highly recommend to those scoffers who make that assertion :

“Evidence of God in Mathematics -Truth Project 37, Full Documentary of Proofs of Bible Reliability”

“URGENT! New Discovery in FIRST and LAST Verses of the King James Bible! [2023]”

Hell will be filled to the brim with “good men”… “moral” men … as well as “religious” men who all have this one thing in common … they have never been born again. Those who have been born again do not boast in their so-called “moral excellence” as the basis or ground for their right-standing [justification] before God; they boast in the cross of Christ alone [Galatians 6:14]. What a man might see in another man as “good”, God sees as one that is “dead” …. dead in trespasses and sins [Ephesians 2:1].

To miss this great truth, is in essence, to miss the central message of the Gospel. So, how does Christianity differ from all other religions? If I had to summarize it in one word, it would be “Grace”. Other religions require people to try really, really hard to be worthy enough to earn acceptance before their deities. Only in Christianity does God himself come to us to make us worthy, not as a reward for our hard work and striving to obey His rules, but as a free gift of grace for those who would trust in Christ’s atoning work rather than their own.

So many stumble right here by choosing to believe that the salvation that God offers[ by grace through faith and not of works] is “too easy” or “too good to be true” [but in truth, they have rejected God’s only appointed road to Heaven, it’s the very heart of the Gospel message]. Others, who claim to have entered through that narrow gate, are yet striving to be accepted by God through their obedience to God’s rules… does that sound like a person who believes that they have been redeemed by Christ’s blood? … “oh yeah”, they say, “I’ve been redeemed by Christ’s blood for now, but I’ve got a little more work to do if I plan on making Heaven my home someday … but I’m not working for my salvation.”

How many people out there do you suppose trust in their good deeds outweighing their bad deeds when those accumulated works are placed on their imaginary, metaphoric, “Great Scale in Heaven” on Judgment day for their admittance into Heaven? Personally, I believe it’s very likely that the majority of mankind has bought into this lie fabricated from the demonic hordes.

Here’s another shocking and frightening aspect to the scenario … there are many out there who consider themselves genuine, born-again, blood-bought children of God, that aren’t in actuality that far apart from that mind-set … the parallel is undeniable.

“This is how the enemy works :

A BELIEVING person goes to God, to the Cross, on the day they
are saved, and they are so thankful that GOD saved them. They
know that day, they are saved and who did it, and they know
they are going to HEAVEN, because of God and Christ and The Cross.

2 Yrs later, they are on a forum teaching …”Here is how you
lose salvation”…..>”here are the commandments you need to keep,
and the works you need to do, to STAY SAVED”…

Yet, the day they were saved, they KNEW why they were going to heaven, as they had the truth then.., and now….= over time they’ve been conned out of it by “theology” deceivers.”

Galatians 1:9-10, “As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.”

Galatians 6:14, “But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.”
